Mirtha Lucas

Mirtha Lucas is a PhD candidate at DePaul University in the Computer Science Program. Her areas of interests are Computer Vision and Neural Networks with Deep Learning applied to the medical field. Besides pursuing her PhD studies, she is also a full time Software Developer in the Industry of Power Plan Design and Power Transmission Systems.

Charmi Patel

Charmi Patel is a Ph.D. Student in College of Computing and Digital Media at DePaul. She is currently a Research Assistant in the Medical Informatics (MedIX) lab. Her research interests are applying Computer Vision and Machine Learning. Her hobbies are Photoshop/Illustrator Designing and Hiking.

Nandhini Gulasingam

Nandhini Gulasingam is a part-time Ph.D. student with research interests in Machine Learning and Visualization. She currently works for the Faculty Scholarship Collaborative (FSC) at DePaul University and is an adjunct faculty member in the college of CDM and LAS where she teaches Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Sciences and Statistics. At the FSC, she manages GIS, database, web development and data related projects. Her expertise includes data analysis, GIS and visualization, databases, and web development.

Ankita Mishra

Ankita Mishra is a graduate student in data science with a strong interest in applying machine learning and statistical techniques to healthcare challenges. Her research focuses on developing predictive models that analyze social determinants of health (SDoH) to better understand factors influencing patient outcomes. By incorporating unstructured data sources, such as text-based records from Community Health Workers (CHWs), she aims to enhance risk assessment strategies and support more effective healthcare interventions. Through her work, Ankita seeks to bridge data gaps and contribute to more equitable and informed decision-making in the medical field.

George Tzimas

George Tzimas is a graduate student at DePaul pursuing a combined MS Data Science degree at DePaul University. His research is focused on applying machine learning techniques and statistical methodologies in the healthcare sector. George's research is focused on developing innovative risk modeling frameworks and improving patient-centered healthcare approaches, with the goal of improving outcomes for patients and healthcare providers alike.

Huy Quoc Nguyen

Huy Quoc Nguyen is currently pursuing his undergraduate degree in Computer Science with a minor in Software Development. His academic interests extend to the realm of Game Design, an area about which he is deeply passionate. In addition to his enthusiasm for programming, he is an avid reader with a particular fondness for fantasy novels. Among the numerous books he has enjoyed, 'Lord of the Mysteries' holds a special place as his all-time favorite.

Ankita Kshirsagar

Ankita Kshirsagar is a Computer Science graduate student at DePaul University with experience as a Cloud Data Engineer. In her Genomic Search project, she focuses on designing custom databases and organizing transcriptomic and protein interaction data. Her research explores RNA G-quadruplexes and their binding proteins (rG4BPs) in relation to KSHV skin virus, combining her data engineering skills with cloud technologies to extract meaningful insights from biological data.

Simran Chauhan

Simran Chauhan is a graduate student in Health Informatics at DePaul University and a licensed dental surgeon with four years of clinical experience. Currently, she is working on a Genomic Search project that explores RNA G-quadruplexes (rG4s) and their binding proteins in the context of Kaposi’s Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus (KSHV). Her work focuses on understanding the regulatory role of rG4s in viral infection by analysing transcriptomic and protein interaction data. By combining her clinical background with research in molecular informatics, Simran aims to contribute to data-driven approaches that advance precision medicine and improve health outcomes in infectious disease contexts.

Minh Nguyen

Minh Nguyen is an undergraduate student who is majoring in Computer Science. His interest is in data analytics, and he wanted to learn more about the depth of computer science. He is working on creating an interface on Linux that allows the user to upload their Training and Testing data sets and visualize the distributions along with OoD scores.

Maria Alexandra (Ally) Theodorescu

Ally Theodorescu is a graduate student pursuing a Master's degree in Data Science. She earned her B.S in Computer Science with a minor in Data Science from DePaul and her research interests include materials informatics and data analytics/visualization. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, running, playing tennis, and drawing.
