Using the Take Home Labs from Oklahoma State University, we have developed our very own motor modeling and control demonstration kit. The open loop modeling and control labs were included as a first in the CSE 361 course offering of Winter 2021.

The kit requires the following components:

• Arduino Mega 2560
• Arduino motor control shield (any)
• Any DC motor with known gear ratio
• Motor encoder (preferrably built-in with the motor)
• MATLAB and Simulink Student Suite with Arduino Support Add-ons

To work with different motor types, different 3D printed mounts were prepared. Here are a few:
