Printing lecture notes

In order to print multiple slides per page using PowerPoint:

  1. Select File/Print
  2. Take the option to print handouts instead of slides.  (The default is to print slides).
  3. You can then specify the number of slides you wish to place on each page.

If you are using the PowerPoint viewer:

  1. Right-click to reach the Print dialog box.
  2. Select the Finishing tab.
  3. Choose to print multiple slides per page.

If you are using Internet Explorer to view the lectures, be aware that it may automatically launch a presentation, and in that case, you will not be able to print the slides.  You can tell that this is happening when you right-click on the presentation you do not reach the Print dialog box.  The solution is to use Netscape Navigator or Netscape Communicator to view the slides.  When it asks you if you should open or save the file, tell it to save the file.  You can then open the file using PowerPoint and print it normally.

  3. Type telnet students.depaul.edu

Note that if you are trying to access another machine (such as condor, hawk, etc.), simply type the name of the machine instead of students.depaul.edu.  For example, to access hawk you would type telnet hawk.depaul.edu in Step 3 above.
